Moctar THIAM
Chief Executive Officer
Over the last 20 years he has worked at the World Bank in various capacities serving as Sector Manager for the Sustainable Development Department covering Senegal, Mali, Niger, Gambia, Cape Verde and Guinea Bissau.
He was in charge of promoting integration strategies for seven sectoral units (Agriculture, Transport, Energy, Urban Planning, Water, Environment and Social).
Most recently, he held the position of World Bank Representative in Mauritania.
Mr THIAM had overall responsibility for the Dakar Diamniadio Highway project.
Before joining the World Bank, Mr THIAM was Marketing and Operations Manager of Mobil Oil in Mali from 1986 to 1991.
Prior to these two positions, he led a construction company in Mali for four years.
He holds a Master's degree in International Business Management from the University of Maryland, an engineering degree from the Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics in Paris, a Master's Degree in Mathematics and a Master's Degree in Econometrics Of the University of Caen.
