A distinguished Senegalese leader, Mme Niane possesses a dual academic background, combining an Engineering degree in Food Industry Sciences and Technology (Montpellier, France) with an MBA (Birmingham, UK).

Her career is defined by an extensive mix of public and private sector experience at both national and international levels. Having begun her professional journey in the private sector, she subsequently joined the Civil Service, notably serving within the initial private-sector support frameworks funded by France and the World Bank.

Key Career Milestones

• APIX (Investment Promotion and Major Works Agency): In 2000, she was appointed as the first Director General of APIX. In this capacity, she coordinated landmark reforms to enhance the business environment, specifically through the Presidential Investment Council (CPI). She also spearheaded the management of major Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects, including the Dakar–Diamniadio Toll Highway and the Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD).

• African Development Bank (AfDB): Mme Niane’s international career continued at the AfDB, where she served as Special Advisor to the Vice-President for "Infrastructure, Private Sector, and Regional Integration." She was later appointed Director reporting to the President, tasked with coordinating the return of the Bank’s headquarters from Tunis to Abidjan and overseeing the renovation of the AfDB head office.
