Moctar THIAM

Mr THIAM has over 30 years of professional experience in planning, design, negotiation and project management and support to governments in analysis, organization and training.
He worked for 20 years at the World Bank where he notably held the functions of Sector Manager in the Department of Sustainable Development for Senegal, Mali, Niger, The Gambia, Cape Verde and Guinea Bissau. in charge of promoting integration strategies for seven sectoral units (Agriculture, Transport, Energy, Town Planning, Water, Environment and Social).
More recently, he held the position of Representative of the World Bank in Mauritania. Mr THIAM was in charge of the Dakar Diamniadio motorway project. Mr. THIAM before his integration into the World Bank was the Marketing and Operations Director of Mobil Oil in Mali from 1986 to 1991. Before these two positions, he managed for 4 years a construction company in Mali.
He holds a master's degree in International Business Management from the University of Maryland, an engineering degree from the Special School of Public Works in Paris, a Masters in Mathematics and a Masters in Econometrics from the University of Caen.
